Official Sweepstakes Rules

This sweepstakes begins on January 1, 2020 and ends on January 31, 2020. This sweepstakes is void where prohibited by law.

1. HOW TO ENTER

No purchase is required to enter or win. In order to be eligible, all entries must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on January 31, 2020. Each person may enter only once. 

Submit the survey located at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/H9XMV2G to enter.

2. ELIGIBILITY

This sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the U.S. residing in the 48 contiguous states, Alaska, Hawaii, and the District of Columbia, 18 years or older. Employees and their families, subcontractors, and authors of Brookes Publishing are not eligible. The qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of Brookes Publishing and are final.

3. SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS

One winner will be selected in a random drawing held at Brookes Publishing’s offices on February 7, 2020. Odds of winning a prize depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winner will be notified by the email address used in entering the drawing within 5 business days after the February 7, 2020 drawing.

4. PRIZES

Each winner will receive the following ASQ materials (total retail value of U.S. $234.80).

5. PRIVACY DISCLOSURE

Sweepstakes entrants are supplying personally identifying information (e.g., name, address) to Brookes Publishing by entering the book giveaway. Participation in this sweepstakes is completely voluntary, and the entrant therefore has a choice whether to disclose his or her information. Sweepstakes entrants’ email addresses will be used only for the purposes of communicating about these sweepstakes unless the entrant requests to receive promotional email or newsletters from Brookes Publishing.

6. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

If by reason of a printing or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these official rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

Brookes Publishing reserves the right to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of the website or who is otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate, or modify any sweepstakes not capable of completion as planned, including by infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, or technical failure of any sort.

By entering the sweepstakes, each sweepstakes entrant assumes and agrees to be solely responsible for, all liabilities and costs arising out of his/her participation in the sweepstakes and releases Brookes Publishing and its directors, employees, and subcontractors from the same. Income and other taxes (if any) are the responsibility of the winner. Brookes Publishing is not liable for lost, late, delayed, damaged, incomplete, illegible, or misdirected sweepstakes entries of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware, or software, whether originating with the sweepstakes entrant or Brookes Publishing.

7. CONSTRUCTION

All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Sweepstakes Rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrants and Brookes Publishing, shall by governed by, and constructed in accordance with, the laws of the state of Maryland, without giving effect to any choice of laws or conflict of law rules or provisions that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than Maryland. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provisions were not contained therein.
